A marketing manager was fired due to Mobile Marketing.
A CEO of a startup ecommerce app reached out to me.
He was worried as sales were not picking.
Social, Programmatic and SEO – nothing worked.
He said his marketing team introduced mobile marketing to him.
But he turned the idea down several times.
And finally, fired the head of the marketing team for poor sales.
I believe, it happened due to absence of Mobile Marketing strategy.
Brands still do not understand that:
– SEO is affective
– Social is effective
– AdWords is effective
– Every single digital strategy can be effective.
But they are not EQUALLY effective in every situation.
I recommended him a CPI (Cost Per Install) campaign.
As the first target was to increase the base of users.
The best part, marketers only have to pay when apps are installed by users which can be tracked by a third-party tracking system.
Its been two weeks since then, and soon he will be happy to see the results.
Lessons???
1) Owning business doesn’t mean you are the smartest in the room.
2) If you don’t trust people to do their jobs, don’t hire them.
And most importantly,
