I once offered someone in my team a hundred percent salary increment.
But she turned it down.
“That’s a joke!”
I thought.
But her response shocked me.
She didn’t want the promotion as it came with travelling,
And ultimately, spending more time at work.
As much as I was disappointed,
I respected her decision.
I learned that day:
1) Every one has a different motivation trigger.
2) Never assume unless you ask.
