Sell if you want to sell. Be nice if you want to be nice.
People are faking being nice to take advantage of the current situation.
Yesterday, I got a lengthy message from someone wishing me well during these times.
I appreciated his message and wished him well too.
A few seconds after, I got another lengthy message, pitching so hard.
I was tongue-tied for a few seconds.
I brooded – Was he being nice or he was just faking it to sell to me?
People often say, people buy from people they like.
That’s wrong!
People buy from people they trust.
I’m not against anyone pitching but I’m against coming to sell in a suspicious or a sleazy way.
That’s absolutely not a way to build trust.
If you want to be nice, be nice.
Don’t fake being nice to sell.
It doesn’t work in the long run.
